Daddy day care

114/365 (Vada)

This is Bens idea of looking after Vada and insect protection. It's good to see he will take the shirt off his own back to protect his girl from bighties.

My big boy

114/365 (Zavia)

I can't believe how fast my little boy is growing into a big boy. He rides his bike like a seasoned pro and has the attitude to go along with it. I love watching his progress.

"Cada uno es egradable"

89/365 (Vada)

"Cada uno es egradable" is what adorns the cubby house doorway. It is spanish and means "all are welcome".

Although Vada is only old enough to sit and watch her big brother play and chew on the odd toy he passes her way, I can invisage both these two playing for hours on end in here when she is older.

Bindis

89/365 (Zavia)

He has a really good memory. We have bindis growing in our backyard...even though they don't have the prickle on them yet, he remembers what they look like from our old house. He was so sure he had a prickle in his foot and made his older cousin carry him from the back stairs to the cubby house all morning. It is literally 3 steps away.

Learning

87/365 (Zavia)

My sweet boy, there are wrong ways and there are right ways of doing things. Today you drank from a water fountain both the wrong way and the right way. I do applaud your initiative though. You did eventually figure out how to climb up on that sucker.

Good clean fun

83/365 (Vada)

New sensations.

Boy

83/365 (Zavia)

Don't judge him...He's a boy...It's what they do.

helmet head

79/365 (Zavia)

Zavia was more than happy to model his helmet for me today...even if it was on backwards. He has had a mysterious rash under his mouth for a few days now and we finally figured out that it is from his helmet strap...the silly goose has been wearing it over his mouth.

Charming

56/365 (Zavia)

Today was the big photoshoot with Luke and Sarah. We ended up doing it in our backyard...it ticked all the boxes...full of flowers, vintage feel, close to home (literally). We were supposed to photograph another beautiful family but unfortunately they couldn't make it last minute, so with half an hour or so to spare, Tara very generously offered to do some family photos for us. I just love the way they turned out...Z-man the ever seasoned subject rocked these two shots. Thanks again Tara.

Model child

55/365 (Vada)

I mean 'model' child in every sense of the word...not only is she beautiful and a great little subject to practice on...she is also a perfect little specimen of a girl. I wouldn't change one thing about her temperament. She is so content and happy...all of the time.

The tree

55/365 (Zavia)

Today we went photo shoot spot hunting with Tara. We have a photoshoot happening tomorrow and the original destinations just weren't cutting it. Tara took us to check out her favourite big tree in Nambour...a little boys heaven! Although we won't be using this spot for tomorrows shoot, I'm so glad Tara showed us coz Zavia had a lovely little play in amongst the branches. I'm sure we will be back here often!

B-Ball star in the making

54/365 (Zavia)

Zavia tries to convince just about everyone that comes to our house to play "backetball". If the mail man wasn't on a motorbike and able to make a quick get away, he would be roped into playing im sure. Today it was Nanni's turn.
After quite a long game, Nanna told Zavi that she could play for just 5 more minutes. Zave had to check what that would look like on her watch just incase she cheated and tried to skip out earlier.

Hoodlum

53/365 (Vada)

We've been spending our Saturday afternoons lately down at the basketball courts where Ben plays with a few of his mates. Vada sits intently the whole time, watching daddy and playing with the other kids. She's such a good girl.

Graffiti hunt

53/365 (Zavia)

Ah the joys of living near Nambi town. This may look like a real seedy area but its actually all painted by the hockey association and surrounding their club house and ovals. Z-man busted out a few break dance moves and even did a little irish jig (fourth pic) while eating his subway cookie.

Stop, drop & roll

52/365 (Zavia)

We had a lovely afternoon at our favourite beach spot with the cousins today. Vada sat contently with her daddy while I chased the other four around the sand dunes snapping photos of them playing their imaginary pirate games. Everytime I looked at Zavia he was falling down a dune or tripping over a tree root. Looking back over todays photos, there is actually none of him on his feet.

Feelin hot hot hot

49/365 (Vada)

It was a gorgeous 27 degree day today...perfect singlet and nappy weather. It was so nice outside that Vada and I put Zavia to bed for his arvo nap and then folded washing on our back verander. Im sooo looking forward to summer.

What you lookin at??

48/365 (Vada)

And...so begins the attitude! My girl cracks me up every single day. I'm looking forward to a life time of these disapproving glares.

A boy and his boat

48/365 (Zavia)

Not a technically great photo...but it sums his boat play up perfectly.

My friend saw this image on my camera and commented on how much fun he has on 'wash day'...at the time I just agreed and didn't think much more of it, then later I was thinking of this conversation and realised that the term 'wash day' seams so foreign to me now. GONE are the days when I only had to do washing once or twice a week. This is now a daily event...Zavia plays in his imaginary boat like this on a daily basis. How is it possible that two small extra bodies can create 5 or 6 extra days worth of washing??
