This is Vadas new favourite toy. It is a farm yard magnet set (that was Zavias). It makes animal noises and Vada has started 'mooing' along with it. Very cute.

mud puddles

As I sat in the house today, I could hear what sounded like someone watering a garden. As we only have one neighbour and his car wasn't in the driveway, I thought it would be best to go and investigate this noise. I followed the sound outside where the clothes line is and found my cheeky little monkey with the hose, making a lovely muddy mess for his cars and trucks to drive through.

I can remember vividly the feeling of walking in my gumboots filled with water. Zavia didn't have puddles to play in today so he made his own squelchy goodness.

Zavia wanted to 'help' me fold the washing today. This included unfolding all the already folded washing and putting it all on at the same time. This would usually send me over the edge as it is just wasted time...but I'm learning to chill out and just go with the flow...who cares if I have to re-fold washing if it means he has had a good time.

Mirror mirror, on the wall...

Vada is the fairest of them all!

I've been wanting to capture Vada looking at herself in the mirror for a while now. As she's not sitting on her own yet, it has been quite hard. So today I put a mirror on the floor and let her reflect for as long as she wanted. The baby staring back eventually said something mean and it all ended in tears.

Mr fix it

Zavia will have to do something with his hands when he grows up. Whenever something needs to be fixed he gets his tools and says, "fix, fix, fix, fix" until it is done.

He found an empty shelf to play in. If only Mary Poppins would come over and play 'lets clean up the linen cupboard' with him.

"Cada uno es egradable"

"Cada uno es egradable" is what adorns the cubby house doorway. It is spanish and means "all are welcome".

Although Vada is only old enough to sit and watch her big brother play and chew on the odd toy he passes her way, I can invisage both these two playing for hours on end in here when she is older.

Bindis

He has a really good memory. We have bindis growing in our backyard...even though they don't have the prickle on them yet, he remembers what they look like from our old house. He was so sure he had a prickle in his foot and made his older cousin carry him from the back stairs to the cubby house all morning. It is literally 3 steps away.

My sweet boy, there are wrong ways and there are right ways of doing things. Today you drank from a water fountain both the wrong way and the right way. I do applaud your initiative though. You did eventually figure out how to climb up on that sucker.

Vada is totally smitten with Poppy. We are visiting Poppy everyday to keep her company while her family is away and it is the highlight of Vadas day. Poppy likes to sneek up on Vada and pounce on her head which makes Vada squeel with delight.

Zavia thought it would be really smart to drag his pillow and blanket out to the lounge room today, hide under it, and scare me when I walked in the room. He was right...it worked. Luckily for me he did it over and over again so I was able to grab my camera and surprise him with my camera in his face.
